The single-family home, built in 2016, required a reconfiguration of its WiFi6 network to align with Telus high-speed fiber internet. Given that the house had an existing Control4 smart home system, reconfiguring the network necessitated updates to the Control4 system to ensure proper operation.

System Configuration and Challenges

Previously, there was an issue with Control4 Neeo remote compatibility with Ubiquiti wireless networks. To avoid future WiFi connectivity problems, the house opted for an Araknis WiFi6 wireless network system, which includes:

• Araknis 2.5GB Router
• IP Configuration: Avoid common Telus/Shaw IP ranges to ensure future-proofing against changes in internet service providers.

Configuration and Upgrades

1. Upgrade WiFi6 Network:
   • Installed and configured the Araknis WiFi6 wireless network system to ensure compatibility with the existing Telus high-speed fiber internet.
2. IP Configuration:
   • Reconfigured IP addresses for all subsystem devices, avoiding common Telus/Shaw IP ranges to ensure that the smart system remains unaffected by future changes in service providers.
3. Software Upgrade:
   • Upgraded the Control4 system software to the latest version 3.4.2.
