The client purchased a new home and upgraded the Lutron lighting system from Ra2 to Ra3, upgraded to a WiFi 6 network, installed a karaoke system, reset the Sonos system, and replaced the camera system.
Due to the new Telus Fiber connection with a different IP range from the previous setup and the Ra2 Repeater not using DHCP for its IP address, it took some time to figure out the solution. Ultimately, we had the homeowner locate the old Telus router, created a new project in Lutron Ra2 12.10.0 to activate the Ra2 Main Repeater (without resetting the system), changed its IP settings to DHCP, and connected it to the new WiFi 6 network. Once the Repeater obtained the new IP via DHCP, we successfully downloaded the old configuration.
Then, in the Ra3 software, we opened the project, added the Ra3 Processor, removed the Ra2 Repeater and Bridge, linked the devices, and uploaded the new configuration to complete the upgrade.
The Lutron Ra2 system, which had been running for over 10 years, can now continue to operate for another 10 years after the upgrade to Ra3.
